Lee’s Season (23 min.)

Lee’s Season is a 23 minutes video film.
It takes place in a house by a lake and introduces the story of three young girls and a boy. They are all awkwardly in search of themselves. Between attraction and frustration, they violently express the desire of rebuilding a family.
The film is based on three distinctive moments:
The first one insists on the outdoor rituals between two of the young girls (the two sisters) and the boy. The third girl is watching them. Isolated in her room she is the witness of their games and captures them through her emotions.
The second moment explores the two sisters’ relationships, their symbiosis and mimesis in a long apnea-like scene.
The third part shows some common life scenes of the group.
Each of these three parts is cut by scenes of collective sleeping, as well as by the dreams and the memories of the lonely girl. During the whole story this character is a kind of link between sleeping and awakening, dream and reality. She becomes the representation of inhibited feelings as well as their impulsive expressions.
The soundtracks at the beginning and at the end of the film have been composed by the actors (who are musicians in the first place) and Emmanuelle Antille. During a period of eight months the artist has been working together with them on the recordings and the production of a music album called “Emmanuelle Antille - Tunes for films and dance”, as well as on the creation of the film.
